Sharing small ideas that make a big difference!
TeachMeet is QHTA’s FREE online Professional Development, where History teachers share ‘what works’ in their classroom.
Each term on Wednesday of Week 6, TeachMeet invites History teachers around the state to share a practical teaching and learning idea from their classroom. This can be:
- A lesson activity
- A specific resource (like that amazing source you found that your class really loved analysing!)
- A great enquiry question you’ve used to frame a unit
- An assessment idea
- How you teach a specific skill like synthesis or evaluation
- A way you introduce a unit (film clip or story?)
- How you explain a tricky concept (diagram or analogy?)
Would you like to develop your presentation skills? TeachMeet is the perfect opportunity. Our 5-minute time limit for each idea means TeachMeet is a great way to ‘dip your toe’ in the water of presenting to colleagues. Next stop – a state conference 😉
Our time limit also means we pack a lot into 60 minutes! It’s one hour full of inspiration to cover all kinds of History teaching needs.
Got a specific question or teaching skill you’d like to see covered? We welcome requests for TeachMeet topics, so do get in touch.
TeachMeet is advertised here on our website, in our newsletter and on our Facebook page. Our next one is Wednesday 12th November 2025
See you there!
