QHTA’s Early Career Teachers Conference, now in its third year, took place in February 2025, and was once again very well attended. The conference was hosted by Stuartholme school, and coordinated by Management Committee member Ben Hegarty.  Delegates heard from a range of speakers on topics such as literacy and explicit vocabulary instruction, evaluation in History, successful lesson starters, Historical ‘hooks’, deepening historical thinking and how to use ‘standard elaborations’ to assess students’ work.  Opportunities to network, connect with QHTA’s management committee, and share common experiences were all part of the day. We look forward to developing our early career offering in 2026.
